Elliot S. Grupp![]() With nearly four decades of CPA experience, Elliot S. Grupp specializes in accounting and management counseling for small businesses, as well as strategic and tax planning for businesses and individuals. His 12 years of prior experience as a corporate CFO help him understand the particular needs of small companies; attention to detail, tax minimization, strategic planning and bottom line management. Elliot began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Ernst. He later became controller for a printing company where he helped grow sales from $3 million to $12 million over eight years. During his tenure, he developed accounting policies and procedures, installed a new computer system and implemented a financial plan to lift the company out of fiscal difficulty. Following an acquisition, Elliot became chief financial officer of that division, overseeing sales, production and accounting. In the mid-1980s, Elliot served as chief financial officer of a start-up electronics company and another printing firm, but returned to his public accounting roots in 1986. His practice grew quickly as he developed a client base in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, real estate and retail. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is past president of the Boston Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. Elliot is extremely active in the community. Since 1984, he has been on the board of directors of Temple Beth Abraham in Canton, where he has been president and chairman of the temple's budget and finance committee. He has also served as a board member and president of the Canton Area Helpline, which provides food and emergency services. Elliot is currently treasurer for Learning Disabilities Worldwide, Inc., an organization devoted to the education of parents, physicians, colleges and schools regarding learning disabilities. An avid sports fan and bridge player, Elliot holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Boston University, as well as a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College. |
